Read the guide →Every field starts with a typical result for your division and sex. Change only the numbers you know. You enter nine events; Event 7 (Rhino Pull) has no public raw load, so it is projected. Raw event positions are exact within the selected Dallas group. Points, the overall total and the overall field position are unofficial estimates. For an authoritative score, use XENOM’s official scoring tables or EPI calculator.

We read every published result from XENOM’s first competition and ran the numbers. One finding is blunt. The other two only make sense once you separate two questions that sound identical and aren’t.
A 1,000-point score is the elite standard XENOM publishes for each event. Across ten events and 228 athletes, not one performance reached it — in anything. The best single score of the entire competition was 978. Six athletes still finished with a World Class total (7,001+ EPI), which tells you something about the tiers: you can be World Class overall without ever touching the elite mark in a single event.
Question one: if an athlete scored well in this event, did they usually score well elsewhere? Question two: how much did this event change the finishing order? Dallas did not give the same answer to both.
We measured both on the 214 athletes with a complete ten-event result. Connection with other events is the correlation with the other nine. Average places moved removes the event, rebuilds the leaderboard and measures the average change in position.

Burpees + Ski + Bike tracked the other events most closely (+0.87), but removing it changed the order by only 3.14 places on average. The Ski + Run changed the order most: 5.83 places. Correlation describes how results travel together; it does not say which event caused the final order.
Group the events into XENOM’s three categories and the distinction remains: one figure tracks the other events; the second measures how much the finishing order changes.

Gymnastics had the strongest connection with the other categories (+0.78). Removing strength changed positions most: 13.2 places on average. Those are separate descriptive findings. Neither proves cause or tells an athlete what to train.
How this was measured. Correlation compares an event’s points with the total from the other nine, so the event is not counted on both sides. The position-change figure removes an event, rebuilds the leaderboard and reports the mean absolute change in place. Both use the 214 athletes with complete ten-event results (of 228 entrants; 32 Elite). The 1,000-point count uses all 2,223 recorded event scores. Categories follow XENOM’s framing: strength (001, 007, 009), engine (003, 005, 008), gymnastics (002, 006, 010); 004 is mixed and excluded from the category comparison.
What this is not. One competition, one field, a single weekend — not a trend, and not a training prescription. The points are XENOM’s own published scores. A lower correlation does not mean a category is unimportant; correlations are associations, not causes. Every figure here is reproducible from the public individual leaderboard, and the code that produces them is open.
On the data. Division loads and age grading explain the apparent point conflicts; the three remaining duplicate-result conflicts are 1-point rounding on the timed event. Open athletes had no unresolved monotonic conflicts. Masters are graded more finely than the public five-year bands, so their point estimates can be less precise. Raw event positions use recorded performances directly. The overall total and overall field position remain modeled because the points are interpolated and Rhino Pull is projected.
We asked two simple questions. If someone was good at one type of event, were they usually good at the rest? And which type of event actually changed who beat whom? Dallas gave two different answers.

Athletes near the top in gymnastics also tended to score well in the other events. Its 0.78 correlation was the strongest of the three categories.
Remove the strength events and an athlete moved 13.2 places on average — more than after removing gymnastics or engine.
Gymnastics showed the all-rounders. Strength changed the order. Strong gymnasts usually scored well elsewhere. Remove strength, and athletes moved furthest on the leaderboard.
Higher number = a stronger connection with the other events.
Higher number = a bigger change in finishing position.

The second removes that event, rebuilds the leaderboard and counts how many places each athlete moved on average. Both use the 214 complete results; the 1,000-point count uses all 2,223 recorded event scores.
This is one competition, not a trend or training prescription. XENOM’s published points are used as recorded. Correlation is association, not cause.
